Verizon Business is benefiting from high-performance enterprise routing and customer security, as well as expanded platforms to offer its managed network services customers, thanks to Juniper Networks' J-series services routers with Junos software.
With the availability of the J-series services routers, Verizon Business becomes the first U.S.-based service provider to deliver a managed service offering to enterprise customers for this class of routers, Verizon Business said.
The routers extend the reliability, performance and capabilities of Juniper's Junos software - a single-source operating system - to branch offices and remote locations, as well as to smaller networks, Juniper said.
"By offering management of the Juniper Networks J-series services routers, we enable enterprise customers to reduce the day-to-day management burden so that remote technical staff can focus on business-critical initiatives," said Nancy Gofus, SVP and CMO of Verizon Business. "Every customer has specific networking requirements, and this announcement underscores our commitment to delivering choice and flexibility to our large business and government customers."
Verizon Business plans to build on the announcement by offering a powerful branch office services delivery platform, based on Juniper's J-series services routers, that integrates managed routing, security and other services, including VoIP.
Verizon Business manages 260,000-plus devices on more than 4,200 customer networks in 142 countries and territories, overseeing non-Verizon connections from more than 60 network providers around the world.
