Verimatrix has announced the availability of its ViewRight PC Player at the IPTV World Forum in London.

The ViewRight PC Player is an IP client application that delivers video content to broadband-connected PCs, and it has many of the same time-shift and trick-play capabilities of a digital video recorder (DVR).

IPTV providers can offer the ViewRight PC Player as a premium content package across a range of home network devices, while also creating new revenue streams with tiered pricing.

The player can display standard-definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 content, which is protected by Verimatrix’s Video Content Authority System (VCAS) and can be paused, rewound and recorded through a user interface. Recorded streams retain the full VCAS encryption, ensuring that they remain protected and subject to operator playback entitlement. The ViewRight also has Verimatrix’s user-specific watermarking technology embedded in the client.

Additionally, Verimatrix announced that VCAS has been deployed to secure video-on-demand (VOD) premium content as part of TUS Telekom’s IPTV offering.
