TiVo is jumping into the Internet video space by announcing today that it has an agreement with YouTube that will put YouTube videos directly onto TVs.

The service will be available later this year to broadband-connected subscribers with TiVo Series3 DVRs, including the new TiVo HD.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Users will be able to log on to their YouTube accounts directly from their TiVo boxes. TiVo did not say if there would be an additional charge for getting access to the YouTube videos.

"We're delighted to be working with the world's leading online video community so that TiVo subscribers can access YouTube's popular content on the TV via the TiVo DVR," said Tara Maitra, VP and GM of content services at TiVo.

Maitra said the agreement will give TiVo users the ability to access the YouTube videos through TiVo’s interface and DVR by using one remote control.
