Suddenlink surpasses 100,000 VoIP subscribers
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - February 20, 2008

Suddenlink Communications said yesterday that its VoIP service has more than 100,000 subscribers.

The telephony service is available in 80 percent of Suddenlink’s footprint and currently has more than twice the amount of calls that it did in August.

Suddenlink also made investment announcements for several states in its operating areas, including plans for a $20 million program this year in the state of Arkansas. The money will be used to launch phone services, increase Internet speeds and add more high-definition (HD) channels in numerous locations.

Suddenlink will invest $16 million into Eastern North Carolina for capital improvements and $35 million in West Virginia. The funds in West Virginia are also earmarked for phone service in new markets, increased broadband speeds and more HD channels.
