S.C. op deploys Integra5’s PC Caller ID app

Integra5 has commercially deployed its PC Caller ID application – powered by the i5 Converged Services Platform (CSP) – with Rock Hill, S.C.-based Comporium Communications, a quintuple-play service provider.

There are multiple operators deploying the application throughout the U.S . and Latin America.

PC Caller ID displays an incoming caller’s name and number on a subscriber’s PC screen before the phone even rings.

“Based on the phenomenal success of ‘Caller ID on TV,’ we’re now leveraging the i5 CSP to rollout additional converged services from Integra5, the first of which is ‘Caller ID on PC',” said Glenn McFadden, EVP of operations at Comporium. “It is now available free to customers who subscribe to our high-speed Internet service and wireline phone service with regular caller ID.”

The i5 CSP allows operators to launch new applications – such as PC Caller ID, SMS Text Messaging, Voicemail to the TV and i-Click – immediately, providing a foundation for the continuous rollout of converged communications and content services.

Operators deploy the i5 CSP in the network, where the platform recognizes incoming landline and wireless calls, creates the display information, and sends it to the appropriate subscriber’s TV and/or PC. The platform’s distributed architecture scales to millions of subscribers and requires no truck rolls or in-home equipment, the company said, and it works in IPTV, cable and hybrid network environments.
