Pixelmetrix to intro new DVStation interfaces at NAB
By Traci Patterson
CedMagazine.com - April 09, 2008

Pixelmetrix is introducing two new modular interfaces for its DVStation family – a VoIP solution and a DVB-S.2 ASLF solution – at the NAB Show, which will be held April 14-17 in Las Vegas.

The new VoIP solution provides immediate connectivity to IP networks for MPEG-over-IP analysis with the DVStation-210.

The VoIP solution expands Pixelmetrix’s integrated headend monitoring offering with the ability to monitor any mix and match of satellite, cable, terrestrial and IP signals, on the same platform, by installing different line interface cards, the company said.

DVB-S.2 Advanced Satellite Line Interface (ALSF) is a multi-standard solution for the monitoring of digital satellite transmission. It supports DVB-S.2, DVB-DSNG and DVB-S modulation of MPEG-2 transport streams.

“DVB-S.2 provides a tremendous amount of flexibility and efficiency in satellite communications by allowing various modulation schemes, enabling operators to balance bandwidth and robustness while preserving their existing investments in spacecraft and ground equipment,” said Danny Wilson, president and CEO of Pixelmetrix. “The addition of the new VoIP solution and DVB-S.2 ASLF to our DVStation-210 range of test, measurement and monitoring devices really creates a one-stop, complete satellite monitoring solution.”
