Vizio has inked a host of content providers to design widgets that will bring movies, TV shows, music and social networking widgets this year to the company’s Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) Connected high-definition TVs.

The new additions to the application developer program include eBay, Facebook, Radiotime, Revision 3, Rallypoint Sports, Showtime, Twitter and Vudu.

The VIA-enabled HDTVs come with built-in wireless 802.11n and wired networking, as well as a customized universal remote control with a built in Qwerty keyboard for searches, log-ins and passwords.

Previously, Vizio announced a number of content and service providers that are building VIA Internet Apps, including: Accedo Broadband, Amazon Video On Demand, Blockbuster On Demand, Flickr, Netflix, Pandora and Rhapsody.

Vizio will be demonstrating its VIA Internet Apps Connected HDTVs featuring the Rhapsody digital music service in press events this week in New York City.

Today, Vizio also announced  its fall 2009 Extreme Vizio Technology (XVT) series lineup, with eight new models ranging in size from 32 inches to 55 inches . Vizio said the products are scheduled to ship throughout the summer and into the fall, with several already in-store or due to hit shelves soon.
