Optimum Lightpath snags MEF award

Optimum Lightpath, a division of Cablevision, was among the winners of the Metro Ethernet Forum’s Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards.

Optimum Lightpath beat out AboveNet, AT&T and Verizon to win the Best Marketing Award in America.

The awards were for service providers in the Asia Pacific (APAC), Americas and International categories and were announced at concurrent MEF dinners in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and New York City.

The International Service Provider of the Year category, which was a new category introduced this year, was awarded to the service provider deemed by the judging panel to have offered the most comprehensive intercontinental service offering, connecting customers in the Americas, APAC and EMEA regions.

The four finalists were Global Crossing, Reliance Globalcom, Tata Communications and Verizon, with Verizon named the winner.

The Americas Service Provider of the Year finalists were AboveNet, AT&T, Optimum Lightpath and Verizon, with Verizon coming out on top . Verizon also beat out PCCW, Reliance Globalcom and SingTel to win the APAC Service Provider of the Year Award.

The Best Marketing Award finalists for APAC were Reliance Globalcom, SingTel, Uecomm and Verizon. Reliance Globalcom was announced as the winner.

The Best Service Portfolio finalists in APAC were PCCW, Reliance Globalcom, SingTel and Verizon, with SingTel winning the award. AboveNet, AT&T, Cox Communications and Verizon were named as the finalists for the Americas Service Portfolio Award, with AT&T announced as the winner.

APAC Best Service Innovation finalists were PCCW, Symphony, SingTel and Verizon, with Verizon named as the winner. AT&T, Optimum Lightpath, Verizon and XO were finalists for the Service Innovation category in America, with Verizon once again winning.
