MTS Allstream, a subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services, has partnered with Alcatel-Lucent and Microsoft to launch a new HDTV service to its subscribers in Brandon, Winnipeg.

The service, which is called MTS Ultimate TV Service, combines gear from Alcatel-Lucent with Microsoft’s Mediaroom IPTV software platform to deliver more than 250 digital TV and music channels, as well as 30 HD channels.

MTS Ultimate also include a whole-home DVR platform that lets subscribers record and watch shows on up to three connected TVs at the same time, as well as an interactive program guide and access to MTS’ fastest Internet tier.

The service is currently available in Portage La Prairie and Brandon, as well as to some subscribers in Winnipeg.
