ActiveVideo to expound on cloud-based iTV at conference
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - June 02, 2009

ActiveVideo Networks will use the platform of this week’s Connections Conference in Santa Clara, Calif., to expound upon its vision of cloud-based interactive television for cable and IPTV service providers.

ActiveVideo executives will also discuss how last week’s acquisition of Avinity Networks (story here) will increase its technological capabilities and market footprint.

Edgar Villalpando, senior vice president of marketing for ActiveVideo Networks, will discuss the ability of Web content and Web 2.0 functionality to create a new generation of interactive television services as part of the “Web TV: Extreme TV Makeover” panel tomorrow.

In addition, ActiveVideo Networks will be showing field-deployed applications from such programming partners as HSN, Fox Reality and TAG Networks, as well as other interactive content and advertising that leverages the capabilities of ActiveVideo Networks’ server-based technologies.

ActiveVideo Networks anticipates that its cloud-based interactive TV offerings will be available to more than five million homes worldwide by the end of this year.
