The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) has launched a new blog – CableTechTalk.com – that will focus on the evolving broadband technology market.

The blog will highlight telecommunications policy, cable products and services, and other products that operate in conjunction with cable’s infrastructure, the NCTA said.

"Today's vibrant public policy discussions are driven by conversation and debate taking place online, so we hope this blog will contribute to that dialogue,” wrote NCTA President and CEO Kyle McSlarrow in the inaugural blog post . “Cable operators have spent more than $110 billion since 1996 to build a robust network for delivering voice, video and data services to our customers. We’ll take a look at the newest gadgets and tech toys – the consumer electronics that benefit from and leverage cable’s platform.”

The Association plans to invite guest bloggers from throughout the cable industry to discuss the latest technologies, the management of large-scale networks and how changes in regulation affect the customer experience. Views from outside the industry, even those not aligned with cable, will also be invited to the dialogue.

Currently the blog, which launched today, consists of coverage from this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
