LiquidxStream jumps into edge QAM Market
By Brian Santo
CedMagazine.com - January 14, 2008

Los Angeles – LiquidxStream Systems jumped into the crowded Universal Edge QAM market at the SCTE show here.

The company claims its LxS-3216 has the highest QAM density available, at 512 QAMs per unit and 32 QAM channels per RF port. The company said the 32 QAMs on each RF port can be placed anywhere in the digital band with no need for contiguous blocks.

The QAM has complete system and line card redundancy. It can be deployed, LiquidxStream said, with no customer service interruptions and no network overhaul.

The company said the QAM is based on custom digital technology that is “radically different from anything else available.”

President & CEO François Laflamme said, “With 512 QAMs in a carrier-grade high availability chassis, LiquidxStream’s new offering surpasses the present needs of MSOs and will carry them far into the future with the flexibility they need for network growth. In fact, the LxS-3216 makes the revenue potential from new digital cable services something that is now fully realizable.”
