InGrid’s home security offering selected by Blue Ridge
By Traci Patterson
CedMagazine.com - May 05, 2008

InGrid has been selected by Blue Ridge Communications, a cable operator in northeastern Pennsylvania, to deliver its home security offering to Blue Ridge’s high-speed Internet and triple-play customers.

InGrid’s service provides Blue Ridge’s subscribers with always-on broadband, 24/7 monitoring and remote access to their homes – via a Web portal, mobile phone or PDA . Additional features of the service include the ability to receive text messages for customer-defined events and up-to-the-minute weather alerts.

InGrid said that its products have been designed to enable Blue Ridge customers to easily install the system themselves and then enjoy the convenience of monitoring and controlling what is happening inside of their homes.

InGrid Home Security is designed to address the needs of the Pocono, Penn., region’s large commuter population and families that spend a significant amount of time outside of their homes, InGrid said. Blue Ridge will offer InGrid Home Security services as part of its new digital offering.

“We consistently strive to deliver new high-speed Internet, digital phone and digital cable services uniquely suited to meet our customers’ lifestyles,” said Mark Masenheimer, GM of Blue Ridge. “Our partnership with InGrid is a perfect example of how we provide our customers complete technology solutions that offer convenience, an improved level of protection and the ability to remain connected to their homes.”

Each InGrid system has built-in redundancies and is monitored 24/7 with response from Guardian Protection Services, a privately held security company.

Blue Ridge Communications is the nation’s 18th-largest cable TV provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of Pencor Services.
