Gemstar-TV Guide bows site for mobile searches
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - April 01, 2008

Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. has announced the launch of a new mobile Web site, M.TVGuide.com, that is designed to let users find their favorite TV shows on their Web-enabled cell phones.

“M.TVGuide.com is essentially TVGuide.com to go,” said Bob Shallow, VP and GM of TV Guide’s Mobile Entertainment Group. “Users get the same deep dives into their favorite shows, the easy navigation and the community aspects through access to TV Guide editor blogs and mobile chat rooms, but now they can get it all on their mobile phone.”

The TV Guide mobile Web offering provides a 14-day look ahead at localized TV listings complete with episode descriptors. Series and show reminders can be sent via text messages to users’ cell phones, and customers can browse various categories, such as breaking entertainment news. Users can also personalize their favorite choices by using customized settings.
