Another telecom cable outage occurred in the Middle East on Sunday, this one between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, marking the fourth outage in the region in the past few days.

The first outage occurred on Wednesday, when Internet access problems in the Middle East and India were attributed to a pair of undersea cables that were severed near Alexandria, Egypt (story here). On Friday, it was reported that an undersea cable was cut off near Dubai, disrupting Internet and telephone traffic.

The first three outages were due to cable cuts, according to published reports, but the latest cable outage appears to be the result of a power system difficulty.
