Forrester Research: Economy will slow broadband growth
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - November 18, 2008

According to a report released last month by Forrester Research, customers will keep their broadband connections in the face of the soured economy, but they’ll drop add-ons off of their bundles.

In an effort to save money, the report said the economy will also delay the adoption of broadband by some customers across the nation.

Forrester said the expected cutbacks on non-essential value add items will impact broadband service providers’ ARPU, which could cause them to redouble their efforts to sign on new customers.

Forrester said even in a good economy, there are subscribers who are concerned about the increased cost of having broadband services in their homes, which will intensify as money gets tighter in U.S households.
