Ericsson brings IMS / IPTV middleware to TelcoTV
By Brian Santo
CedMagazine.com - November 10, 2008

Ericsson will debut its IPTV middleware in the U.S. The company claims it is the first IPTV middleware platform to be introduced already integrated with IMS.

Ericsson will introduce its middleware at Telco TV 2008, which begins tomorrow in Anaheim.

Ericsson’s IPTV solution, which is aligned with the Open IPTV Forum specifications, brings together Ericsson’s new IMS-enabled IPTV middleware, IPTV network infrastructure, video processing solutions and video-on-demand technologies.

The solution is already proved interoperable with products from Accedo Broadband, Agama Technologies, Amino, HP, SecureMedia, Sun Microsystem, Tilgin, Verimatrix, and ZyXEL.

Eric Cooney, head of TV Solutions, Ericsson says: “We have combined our leading network solutions, service layer applications and systems integration capabilities to launch an industry shaping TV platform that delivers on our vision of the Individual TV Experience. Our focus is on enabling operators to differentiate their TV offerings and offer innovative services that attract, retain and excite the consumer.”
