Cox promotes five execs

Cox Communications has announced the promotions of five employees.

Erin Govednik has been named the executive director of human resources technology for the MSO. Govednik will be responsible for setting the direction for all HR technology needs for Cox. Govednik joined Cox in 2001 as director of human resources management systems.

Angie Keller has been promoted to executive director of the Total Rewards and Worklife programs at Cox. Keller will be responsible for overseeing base salary compensation, sales and incentive compensation, and all bonus, commission and variable pay programs. Keller joined Cox in 2004 as director of compensation.

And Mary James has been named executive director of training and development. James joined Cox in 1995, through its merger with Times Mirror Cable Television, as a training manager.

Robin Benton has been promoted to assistant general counsel for Cox. Benton will be responsible for providing legal support on day-to-day operational telephony issues for the Cox Wireless team. Benton joined Cox in 2001 as corporate counsel and was promoted to senior counsel in 2003.

Finally, Margaret Acker-Blardo has been named the new director of training and development for new products and services. Acker-Blardo will be responsible for strategies and training solutions that support implementation of new products and services in Cox's video, Internet, telephone and wireless businesses. Acker-Blardo joined Cox in 1998 as a learning consultant. She was promoted to manager of national curriculum development in 2000.
