Cox promotes Thigpen, Pace
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - April 07, 2008

Cox Communications recently announced the promotions of Mimi Thigpen, to SVP of strategy, and Montie Pace, to VP of business operations.

According to Cox, Thigpen will continue developing strategies that will fuel Cox's growth, competitive position and success in a dynamic business environment.

Thigpen will lead and facilitate the company's strategic planning and development process through analysis of market and competitive scenarios and a continuous evaluation of emerging products and new business opportunities.

Prior to her promotion, Thigpen served as VP of strategy. Before joining Cox, she served as the managing director of BearingPoint Inc. and as a partner with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.

Cox also announced the promotion of Pace to VP of business operations. Cox said that Pace will continue providing overall direction for financial and operational functions within Cox's Eastern Division systems, which include operations in New England; Hampton Roads, Roanoke and northern Virginia; Oklahoma; Kansas; Arkansas; Omaha, Neb.; central Florida; and the Gulf Coast.

Pace joined Cox Enterprises in 1988 as a senior internal auditor before transitioning to Cox in 1995 as the director of business operations in Oklahoma City. Pace also served in a similar position for Cox's New England system.

Pace was promoted to director of business operations for the Eastern Division in 2002, and most recently Pace served as the executive director of business operations. Prior to joining Cox, Pace served as a staff accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
