CedMagazine.com - March 20, 2008

Comcast Corp. has promoted C. Stephen Backstroom to SVP of taxation, and Kamal Dua to SVP and general auditor.

Backstroom will oversee Comcast’s tax department. He will report to CFO Michael Angelakis.

Previously, Backstroom served as the VP of taxation. He is credited with founding the company’s tax department when he joined Comcast in 1981. Prior to that, he was a manager at Deloitte & Touche. Backstroom serves on the board of directors for the Comcast Foundation and Comcast Capital Corp.

Dua will lead Comcast's internal audit department, which is responsible for monitoring risks and the performance of financial, operational, compliance and systems audits. He will report to EVP David L. Cohen.

Before joining Comcast in 2003, Dua was VP and general auditor of KeySpan Corp. He has also held executive positions with AT&T and Bell Atlantic (now Verizon).
