CTAM merges West Coast chapters
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - August 06, 2008

The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) recently announced the merger of its CTAM Southern California and CTAM Silicon Valley/Pacific Northwest chapters.

The merger, which was effective Aug. 1, created a new chapter that is called CTAM West. The CTAM national board of directors, as well as both chapters’ boards, signed off on the merger.

With the merger, CTAM West will have representatives from all of the major MSOs. Former CTAM Southern California president Pattie Eliason, senior marketing director for Charter Communications, will serve as president of the new chapter.

Former Silicon Valley/Pacific Northwest chapter president Richard Lang, vice president of sales and marketing for Comcast California, will join the merged chapter’s board of directors to provide continuity during the transition.

“We see this merger as an opportunity to build on the unique history of education and networking found in our two chapters,” Eliason said. “We will keep the best activities of both in place and work to strengthen our role across our new footprint.”

Annual events, such as the spring Leadership Summit in Southern California and the fall WineTAM in Northern California, will remain signature events for the chapter. Likewise, the TeleSeminars will continue to be held in multiple venues along the West Coast. The new chapter also has plans for Web streaming of educational panels to make sure to reach members that can’t travel to other events.
