CMC adds 4 more companies to HITS AxIS roster
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - June 20, 2008

The Comcast Media Center (CMC) has signed up four more companies for its HITS AxIS service: NDS, Softel, Strategy & Technology and Unisoft.

AxIS, which CMC launched last month, is a centralized platform that was designed to supported advanced interactive application developers, while also facilitating the launch of these interactive services on cable systems that serve small- to mid-size markets.

The CMC collaborated with Vidiom and TVWorks on the AxIS service, which also supports product development for other companies that are developing interactive applications, including Alticast, Biap, Emuse, Ensequence, Sofia Digital, vivoTrak and Zodiac Interactive, which were previously announced.

“HITS AxIS is ready to support the development, delivery and management of advanced interactive video applications, and we are very pleased to be working with a growing number of leading companies in the iTV space,” said CMC’s Gary Traver, SVP and COO. “In addition to our support for the applications development community, HITS AxIS can provide an end-to-end solution for cable system operators, allowing them to offer advanced services to their customers more easily and more cost effectively.”
