* Icahn rejects Motorola’s offer of two board seats

After the news that shareholder rights activist Carl Icahn is seeking a court order to force Motorola to turn over company documents (story here), The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Icahn has rejected an offer from Motorola that would have secured him two board seats.

Motorola made the offer, hoping to end Icahn's proxy battle for four board seats ahead of the May 5 shareholder meeting, the WSJ reported.

* Sprint names exec to combine IT, wholesale

Sprint Nextel has named Steven L. Elfman to the new position of president of network operations and wholesale, reporting to Dan Hesse, president and CEO.
Elfman had been president and COO of Motricity since January, when Motricity bought Infospace – Elfman had been with Infospace before the acquisition. Before that, he had held mobile data and technology management positions at Terabeam and AT&T Wireless.

Telrad Networks has released the TL6500, a multiservice access gateway (MSAG) for service providers looking to make the migration from legacy systems toward the triple-play.

The TL6500 supports a wide range of user interfaces, including ADSL2+, VDSL, G.SHDSL, Fast Ethernet, POTS and ISDN, as well as Giga Ethernet uplink.
