Former Time Warner Cable executive Bruce Haymes has joined the Nielsen Company to lead Nielsen Digital Media Manager, a new service announced in December that enables companies to monitor and manage the distribution of traditional media content onto the Internet.
As the SVP and product leader of digital media, Haymes will be responsible for all aspects of the Nielsen Digital Media Manager – which Nielsen expects to commercially launch by mid-year – and he will also oversee the company’s relationship with Digimarc Corp.
Haymes was formerly the corporate VP of business affairs at TWC. Prior to that, he held several leadership positions with PanAmSat Corp. and worked as an attorney for several New York law firms, including Chadbourne & Parke and Morrison & Foerster.

Verizon’s high-speed Internet service is now available to consumers in 37 California communities, 16 Wisconsin communities, and the Maryland counties of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s.
The DSL service offers qualified customers a downstream connection speed of up to 7 Mbps for as low as $39.99 per month when ordered with an annual service plan. Verizon now offers the service in about 400 communities nationwide.

VoIP Logic has introduced its new Web services application programming interface (API), which is accessible to service providers via its Cortex System Management portal (version 2.1).
The API will allow service providers to integrate with the provisioning and management of their end-user feature sets, phone services, emergency services, messaging and billing, the company said.
Providers can either use branded Cortex Web portals or integrate directly into their own Web sites.
Cortex – VoIP integration middleware – enables the company’s more than 140 VoIP providers to provision and customize service offerings on best-of-breed systems and provide their end-users with a single point of self-care.
