* American Cable Association finds a vice chairman
By Brian Santo

The board of the American Cable Association (ACA) has appointed Steve Friedman, the COO of Wave Broadband, to vice chairman. Friedman has served on the ACA’s board several times since the organization was founded in 1993; he currently serves as the ACA’s treasurer and as a member of ACA’s executive committee.

“Steve brings the best of both worlds to ACA with his long-serving commitment to representing independent cable’s policy concerns, while also being on the cutting edge of today’s technology and operations,” said Patrick Knorr, ACA’s chairman of the board and COO of Sunflower Broadband/The World Co., based in Lawrence, Kan.

* Scorecard Systems selected by Caribbean provider
By Mike Robuck

Scorecard Systems, a reporting and analysis vendor for cable, broadband and other telecommunications companies, chalked up a customer win yesterday when it announced that Columbus Communications Trinidad is deploying its products.

Columbus Communications Trinidad is a triple-play provider in Trinidad that operates under the brand name Flow. Flow, the second member of the Columbus Communications group to sign with Scorecard, will be implementing Scorecard’s Subscriber Analysis Application, Commissions System, and Revenue/Usage and Trouble Ticket Analysis reporting modules.

“Scorecard’s solution will provide one comprehensive view of all customer and service activity for our triple-play businesses in a single application, which we view as a critical advantage in our competitive marketplace,” said Rhea Yaw Ching, director of sales and marketing and communications at Flow.
