By Traci Patterson

Tandberg Television has appointed Dario Choi as the new VP and GM of TandbergTV Asia-Pacific, effective immediately.

Choi will lead all commercial operations in the area, including the sales, engineering, customer support, marketing, finance and administration teams.

Choi was previously the senior sales director at TandbergTV, where he oversaw the development of the company's sales and business opportunities in southeast and northeast Asia. He joined the company in April 2003 with 13 years of experience in sales, marketing and customer support in various industries, including broadcast, telco and ISP.

Intelsat chairman to resign
By Brian Santo

Intelsat's board has elected Raymond Svider as chairman to replace Joseph Wright, who recently notified the company of his resignation, effective May 1.

Svider is a managing partner of BC Partners, Intelsat's majority shareholder.

Intelsat CEO David McGlade said: "Joe Wright has been a key figure in the success of the fixed satellite services industry. From his days on the PanAmSat board, through his distinguished service as PanAmSat's CEO, to the last two years as Intelsat's chairman, he has been a major force in the positive changes that have shaped our sector. Joe's valuable insights as we combined Intelsat and PanAmSat, particularly with respect to our government business, allowed Intelsat to quickly obtain the benefits of our 'one company' operating structure."
