BIAP Inc. has unveiled its end-to-end Enhanced Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) product suite for the cable industry – including operators, programmers and third-party enhanced TV (ETV) application developers.

The product lineup includes an integrated development environment for third-party developers, as well as an EBIF platform with an optimized EBIF user agent and support server for cable operators looking to deploy the open cable standard.

BIAP’s interactive programming bundle is available in EBIF and includes Yellow Pages on TV, My Football Tracker, My Baseball Tracker, eBay on TV, PiTV (Personalized Information TV) and Election Central 2008. The EBIF applications deliver advanced advertising features such as VOD links, ETV banners, ads targeted to individual homes, and accompanying usage and measurement reports.

The EBIF platform also includes a standards-based set-top box (STB) EBIF user agent and application triggering and delivery support server. The user agent is currently available for Cisco’s PowerTV STB platforms; support for additional platforms – including Motorola’s and OpenTV’s – will be available soon, the company said.
