Actiontec Electronics introduced a line of triple play VDSL2/ADSL2+ Universal DSL Wireless Gateways capable of throughput speeds up to 100 Mbps upstream and downstream over existing copper access lines.

The company said it supports several access architectures, including CO-based DSLAM, remote DSLAM, or FTTx, and either the ATM or PTM access protocol.

The Universal DSL Gateway also leverages Broadcom's PhyR impulse noise protection and physical layer retransmission technology to enhance bit error rates and latency for better IPTV performance . Actiontec said PhyR technology can yield a ten-fold improvement in impulse noise resilience and up to a 15 percent service reach improvement.

The Universal Gateway integrates an ADSL2+/VDSL/VDSL2 modem, 4 port Ethernet switch, 802.11b/g/n wireless router, and firewall.

Support for MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) and HPNA3 (HomePNA) enables distribution of HDTV and other content over existing coaxial cables to set-top boxes or other video appliances. The gateways are capable of transmitting multiple high definition video streams.
