AT&T launches voice service in Sacramento; adds Olympics VOD service
By Traci Patterson
CedMagazine.com - March 17, 2008

AT&T Inc. has announced the availability of its AT&T U-verse Voice service in Sacramento, Calif., completing its triple-play offering to consumers in the area.

In January, AT&T announced that it had finished testing the voice component of its U-verse service (story here). In February, AT&T launched U-verse Voice in Connecticut (story here), and in March the service launched in Kansas City (story here). AT&T U-verse Voice is a managed, IP-based service that is delivered over AT&T's fiber network. Features of the service include combined AT&T U-verse Voice and AT&T wireless voicemail; U-verse Central, an online management portal; Call History, which allows users to view their most recent calls online or on their U-verse TV screen; an online voice mailbox; an online address book; and messaging.

Additionally, AT&T’s U-verse TV customers will have video-on-demand (VOD) access to previews of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with AT&T Team USA On-Demand.

The free VOD content will include exclusive episodes and behind-the-scenes footage of U.S. Olympic Team hopefuls as they train for and compete in various sports.
