CedMagazine.com - March 28, 2008

AT&T announced that, in May, it will launch Mobile TV with FLO TV technology, MediaFLO's mobile TV service featuring high-quality live programming.

The mobile TV service will launch on two new handsets: the LG Vu and the Samsung Access. AT&T Mobile TV will also feature two exclusive channels that will be announced soon, the company said.

AT&T Mobile TV will deliver full-length TV content and sporting events, including programming from CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX Mobile, MTV, NBC 2GO, NBC News2Go and Nickelodeon.

More details on AT&T's soon-to-be-launched mobile TV service from MediaFLO will be available soon, the company said.

Simultaneously, AT&T's competitor Verizon Wireless announced that MTV Tr3s and ESPN Radio are coming to its V CAST Mobile TV service, and that its year-old mobile TV service is now available in more than 50 markets, including Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

V CAST Mobile TV, which also utilizes MediaFLO's FLO TV service, offers more than 150 broadcast-quality programs. The service features full-length shows and other programming from CBS Mobile, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX Mobile, NBC 2GO and NBC News2GO, as well as from MTV Networks' Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
