AT&T’s VOD syncs up with movie review Web site
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - March 05, 2008

AT&T’s U-verse video customers can now make their video-on-demand (VOD) selections with the aid of Rotten Tomatoes’ recommendations.

Rotten Tomatoes is an online move review site that grants “Certified Fresh” designations to movies that have been reviewed by 40 or more accredited film critics or have received a score of 75 percent or more by movie viewers on the company’s “Tomatometer” measurement tool.

AT&T is the first video and VOD provider to use Rotten Tomatoes’ site.

U-verse customers have several ways to find out which VOD movies are Certified Fresh: on-screen via the AT&T U-verse Theatre channel, in the U-guide monthly entertainment magazine that is provided at no charge to all U-verse customers, in monthly VOD brochures mailed to customers and online at the AT&T U-verse U-connect entertainment site.

“We're excited to join two great entertainment brands with AT&T U-verse and Rotten Tomatoes," said Hestia Lei, AT&T’s executive director of U-verse Member Marketing. “Customers love having their own video store right at their fingertips. U-verse customers get an easy-to-use VOD library with a wide selection of the latest releases, and we're making it even easier for them to choose the perfect movie."
