AT&T hooks up with Dish for service in former BellSouth territory
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - April 03, 2008

AT&T has partnered with Dish Network to sell the satellite provider's video services in the nine southeastern states that were formerly served by BellSouth.

AT&T had reseller agreements with both DirecTV and Dish Network, but near the end of last year, AT&T said it would stop selling satellite video services from DirecTV.

The AT&T/Dish Network service, part of AT&T's video portfolio – known as AT&T Advanced TV – features more than 250 all-digital TV channels, including movies, sports, news, international and family programming, and commercial-free, CD-quality music channels.

"We're excited to be able to offer a new video option to our Southeastern customers," said Rob Bentley, Southeast VP and GM for AT&T. "Through the AT&T Advanced TV portfolio and AT&T/Dish Network service, we'll be able to deliver better control, better content and more HD channels."

The service offers customers digital video recorder (DVR) capabilities and more than 75 national high-definition (HD) channels with sports, movies, entertainment, family and educational content, as well as local channels where available.
