TN legislature fails to unleash Chattanooga's network

Tennessee lawmakers have shelved a bill meant to allow its municipalities to expand the internet services beyond its current limits. Consideration of the bill has been postponed until 2016 as support for the bill was insufficient.

Ergen gets payoff as LightSquared bankruptcy settled

Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen was granted a request for $1.4 billion in cash plus interest as repayment for LightSquared's debt he bought using hundreds of millions of dollars from his daughter's trust fund. In bankruptcy court last year, LightSquared alleged that Ergen had purchased the debt illegally on Dish's behalf and not for himself.
