Judge overturns AT&T claim of exemption from FTC lawsuit

Federal Judge Edward M. Chen of the District of Northern California has ruled against the claim AT&T filed in January, which stated the company is exempt from FTC jurisdiction due to their status as a common carrier.

Charter to spend $10.4B to acquire Bright House

Charter Communications will buy Bright House Networks only if Comcast’s purchase of Time Warner Cable is approved. The two deals will give Charter a greater concentration of systems mostly in the South and Midwest.
