Total video subs decline for first time

But the number of new subscribers in the most recently completed quarter was not enough to offset customer losses in the second and third quarters of 2012.
Dish pushes TVE app into Android devices, social media

After previously working with just iPads, the satellite video company’s Dish Anywhere app is now live on Android devices (version 4.0 or higher) and all Apple iOS devices that use operating systems that are versions 5.0 or higher.
Mansour boards Cablevision as EVP, customer service

Report: Carrier Wi-Fi heats ups

According to a recent report by Infonetics Research, carrier Wi-Fi equipment revenue, including carrier Wi-Fi access points and Wi-Fi hotspot controllers, increased 53 percent worldwide in 2012 from 2011.
Arris reorganizes following Moto purchase

The company will establish two major divisions, a Network & Cloud unit and a CPE (customer premise equipment) unit. Arris execs asserted that even though Motorola Home has been struggling, it is set to bounce back.

Service provider segment powers Cisco's Q2

Troy Cablevision's 100G network up and running

Using funding from the broadband stimulus – specifically the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 – Troy Cablevision installed Optelian’s MPX-9110 Flexible 100 Gbps Platform.
Actiontec to build screencast boxes supporting Intel WiDi

WiDi is already built into Intel’s current Core processors, and the company said it has integrated the technology in its forthcoming fourth-generation Core processors as well.
Cranky broadcasters could get their licenses yanked

Fox CEO Chase Carey last month vowed to pull Fox off the air and distribute exclusively through pay TV services if Aereo were allowed to proceed with its current business model.
ABC app to require authentication

ABC said it has deals in place with Comcast, Cablevision, Cox, Charter, Midcontinent and AT&T.
