Insight Communications has named Robert Burns as the company’s new district vice president for northern Kentucky, and it has added Tom Jacobs as director of technical operations in Louisville.

Burns will be responsible for all operations in the northern Kentucky district.

Burns was most recently Comcast’s director of technical support in Houston . He has more than 25 years of experience in the cable industry.

Jacobs also joins Insight from Comcast, where he worked for 28 years in numerous technical operations positions. He was most recently the senior area manager of technical operations in the Blue Ridge area of Virginia.

In October, Insight appointed Timothy Michalk to vice president of talent management, Debra Massey to director of video engineering and Scott Dant to director of tax.

Insight, the ninth-largest MSO in the nation, serves triple-play services to approximately 775,700 customers in the three contiguous states of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
